Yaesu FTM-510DR

The FTM-510DR/E ASP is a feature-rich C4FM/FM mobile transceiver that builds on the solid foundation of the FTM-500DR, with advanced enhancements including the new Super-DX and ASP (Audio Signal Processor) systems. The Super-DX function boosts receiver sensitivity in both digital and analog modes, improving weak signal performance. When in FM analog mode, the ASP further refines audio clarity by digitally reducing noise—ideal for extending your communication range in challenging conditions. For added convenience, ASP AUTO mode automatically kicks in when weak analog signals are detected.

This model also improves on usability with an upgraded PMG (Primary Memory Group) system, allowing up to five VFO or memory channels to be monitored in real time. Unlike its predecessor, the FTM-510DR ASP fades out inactive channels automatically, enhancing situational awareness. PMG AUTO and MANUAL modes now offer more flexibility: AUTO mode receives and allows transmission on up to two active channels, while MANUAL mode enables simultaneous monitoring with easy transmit switching via the dial or touchscreen bar graph.

Additionally, the MAG (Memory Auto Grouping) system now features the “My Group” option, making it easier to access any memory channel across bands. While the FTM-510DR ASP doesn’t include built-in Bluetooth, optional support is available via the BU-5 unit. For current FTM-500DR users, many of these upgrades—including the improved PMG and MAG features—will be available through a firmware update expected by the end of February 2025.
